As ICE raids around major U.S. cities rise, undocumented Immigrants are being detained at a high rate, daily. Below, please take two minutes to watch a video clip of an undocumented father and husband being taken away from his family by ICE. In other words, torn away from his family.
The reason this is unjust because the undocumented father didn’t deserve this type of punishment for coming undocumented. This reason why is because he’s lived in the U.S. for 15 plus years, pays taxes, loves his wife and kids, and is a good neighbor who works hard. He helps the U.S. flourish.
An undocumented Immigrant with this type of narrative doesn’t deserve to be detained and deported, but rather charged with a significant fine and probation until he can prove his good standing, and then earn legalized status for coming undocumented years ago.
Now, undocumented Immigrants who are vicious criminals through human and drug trafficking who don’t want to change do deserve to be detained and deported. ICE should be assigned to detaining and deporting the actual vicious criminals, not an undocumented father like this in the video below.
